29.06.2010 Incomplete Modernity
"I will not pause upon the definition of modern style, modernism, avant-garde, avantgardism, post-modern style and postmodernism. These terms are ambiguous in their explanation, but on the other hand it is certain advantage of this. I will notice some signs of arts in the rhythm of the "big time" or "long duration "..."

04.06.2010 Photography for Thomas – Thomas´ magnifications
This essay was created as a contribution to the text book, unfortunately, of not continuing good collective collaboration – “The Roads and stories of modern art 2“ (previously in the text book 1- the text “Unfinished modern style“, published by me, should perhaps be regarded as the anticipation of our Manifesto of Decisive art. At that time, among other things, this was a criticism of the current visual surplus production from the view of prehistory of photography and cinematography. In that time in England, even in the context of the work of the painter and the watercolourist W. Turner, were created indoor transparents - "finishing by retyping" of the great classics of art which were considered to be the culmination of the development of painting art. Nowadays either art historicians do not know these "famous" names of that time). In the second text book of the Association of Modern Art Historians, where were published the contributions from the colloquium to the 70th birthday of prof. T. Strauss in Bratislava in 2002, I tried to point out that taking a photograph and magnification in a broad cultural and artistic, and also in a specifically art and visual sense of meaning (on example of the film “Magnification“ from M. Antonioni) could not break away from the “voice“ (also from the taktillity) or from the “akustics“ – peculiar power, and thus in general from the new art-historical quality of picture and concretely from the PHOTOGRAPHY.

30.11.2009 Introductory word to the new catalog
“How to come to terms with the portrait on the background of the media manipulation? How to stay oneself, even though the photographer is given the task to record known personalities upon the request of the same media, but in a very different, polemic position against the common primitivism?“ Introductory commentary to the new catalog of Matúš Zajac, A country of faces.
