Who prepares the food you eat on a plane? Is it safe?

Imagine what would happen if half the people taking your flight would get diarrhea in the middle of your journey. Imagine the man next to you would get sick.

In a catering company located at the Ruzyne airport in Prague, the rules are strict. All employees that enter the airport area must pass security each day, they have to wear gloves and head covers while working with food and the overall temperature in the working area must not exceed 13°C. Loading of the food into an aircraft is supervised by security forces and must follow all the airport regulations and only entrusted persons are allowed to step inside of the aircraft. It's very difficult and pricey to heat the food once the plane takes off and therefore extra measures are taken so that nothing would get compromised at any stage of the preparation.
