The capitals of countries whose feverish expansion creates a collision of the past with the future.

Life and fate of the people marked by the communist ideology and poverty are the main formula of these cities. Cities such as Beijing, Delhi, Hanoi are full of emotional events, full of unexpected stories.

This essay is part of a joint project with Michal Fulier, who illustrates European metropolitan cities in the long-term. These two worlds, east and west, are displayed into bilateral confrontation, which leaves the place for thinking about development, stagnation and decline.

The project will be on view within the Month of photography in Berlin in 2010.
